ACEI Angioedema Question - From Theo De Malmanche

I'm grateful to theo for verbalising a question that I'm sure many of us have been wondering about...
"Does anyone recall a case of fatal ACE-inhibitor related angioedema?
We have all had patients with upper airway involvement, and patients intubated for the same.   My brief review of the literature suggests that mortality is higher (perhaps exclusively?) for those with African heritage (Dean DE, etal, J Forensic Sci. 2001;46(5):1239), but I am trying to get an idea of risk (akin to a Calman chart) for colleagues, for patients without African heritage. Personally I have not had any patients die from this, and I doubt that this is due to superior clinical skills! - Theo"
