"There are data showing that sCD163 is good marker of monocyte activation in HIV patients,
and that plasma levels correlate with disease associated with monocyte activation, such as atherosclerotic vascular disease. The only laboratory I know of that has had the assay running is Anthony Jaworowski's laboratory at the Burnet Institute in Melbourne. However, I have contacted Anthony recently about assaying samples for one of my research studies and the lab. currently does not have the assay up and running. Martyn"
